About ISG Frames

True Steel

hidden in plain sight

Lightweight steel framing is the backbone of every structure, yet it’s rarely seen or celebrated. You won’t find it featured in project completion photos or glossy brochures. It sits quietly behind the walls, beneath the floors, and above the ceilings, doing the hard work without the spotlight.

But just because it’s hidden doesn’t mean it matters any less.

In fact, it’s the steel that makes or breaks a build. It determines whether walls are straight, whether floors feel solid, and whether the entire structure stands the test of time. Precision matters. Alignment matters. And most importantly, quality matters, even when no one’s looking.

At our core, we believe in doing the job right from the inside out. Every frame we produce is engineered with purpose, installed with care, and built to last. Because true steel doesn’t need to be seen, it just needs to perform.

Who we are

With over 30 years of  experience in lightweight steel framing and a strong background in cladding, we bring depth of expertise and practical experience to every build. Based in South East Melbourne, we deliver complete framing solutions including design, detailing, fabrication, assembly, and on-site installation.

What sets us apart is our ability to offer both light gauge steel and structural steel, manufactured in-house to suit the needs of any project. This unique capability allows us to handle everything from small-scale sheds to large multi-unit townhouse developments with ease and efficiency.

Our extensive experience in cladding further strengthens our ability to support complex builds. By integrating framing and cladding services, we streamline construction, minimise delays, and ensure a seamless workflow. We take pride in delivering high-quality, reliable, and tailored service across every project we take on.

The mission

Australia has long faced construction challenges, from delays and structural issues to serious threats like termite damage and bushfires. Lightweight steel framing has become an essential solution to these problems, and we recognised early on how crucial it is for the future of building in this country. That’s why we’re here to do it right.

We’re committed to delivering durable, in-house steel framing solutions for both residential and commercial projects. Our focus is on getting the structure right, making sure every frame is designed, fabricated, and installed as intended. Because at the end of the day, it’s the true steel, strong, fire-resistant, and termite-proof, that holds it all together, even when you can’t see it.

The vision

Around the world, many builders face the same problems we’ve encountered here: material shortages, timber warping, termite damage, and increasing vulnerability to fire. We believe lightweight steel framing is the future, not just for Australia, but for countries where climate, quality control, or scalability pose serious challenges to construction.

We’re working towards expanding internationally and sharing our expertise, systems, and steel solutions with builders abroad. By helping others build better, we hope to contribute to a global shift toward stronger, safer, and more sustainable construction methods.

Are you a builder that is struggling with…

Timber with termite damage representing structural risk

Termite damage

Timber frames attract pests, especially termites, causing structural damage that can go unnoticed until it’s too late.

Burning house representing timber’s vulnerability to fire

Fire risk

Timber is flammable and vulnerable in bushfire zones, often failing to meet BAL compliance.

Wet, cracked timber symbolising moisture damage and warping

Long term durability

Timber can twist, swell or rot over time, especially when exposed to moisture or environmental stress.

Steel is the perfect alternative to timber and more builders are making the switch.

Insect proof

Truecore steel is naturally termite proof, so you’ll never worry about hidden infestations compromising your build.

Non combustible

Light gauge steel doesn’t burn. It meets BAL compliance with ease, making it a safer choice for fire-prone zones.

Built to last

Lightweight steel framing won’t rot, twist or swell over time, even in harsh conditions. That means straighter lines and long-term peace of mind.
